Dr. Hou’s team (Lab of visual information processing and brain plasticity)

The goal of Dr. Hou's research is to understand how the normal and abnormal visual systems work by using behavioral and computational approaches. Our groups mainly focus on: 1) the mechanisms of visual information processing for spatial vision, stereopsis and object recognition, 2) the mechanism of visual perceptual learning, 3) how to restore the visual deficits for patients with impaired visual function, and 4) applying Bayesian adaptive methods in quantitative and efficient measurement of visual functions. Dr. Hou is the active member of association of researches in vision science and ophthalmology (ARVO) and vision science society (VSS). His research articles have been published on Journal of Vision and Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science. 

Dr. Hou received his Phd in biophysics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2010. Before joining WMU, He has been working as a post-doc researcher with Professor Zhong-Lin Lu at department of psychology, University of Southern California (2011.2-2011.9), and at department of psychology, the Ohio State University (2011.10-2016.01). He started his research group at Wenzhou Medical University in 2016.
