CORD（China Optometry Resources Development Project）was established in 1998. The School of Ophthalmology & Optometry and other medical institutes in China used these resources to send outstanding professionals to California University, New England College of Optometry and Houston University in United States. These visiting professionals were trained in Clinical specialty, advanced knowledge of Optometry and formation of teaching curricula. The school of Ophthalmology & Optometry gradually established cooperation in research and optometry clinic with Universities in the United States and Australia. The eye hospital of Wenzhou Medical University was selected as a clinical base for clinical rotation of optometry students from United States and Australia. There were about 10 oversea OD students participated in the clinical base program from about 6-7 oversea universities every year.
