Laboratory of Nanoscale Biosensing and Bioimaging (NBAB) was established in 2010 by Director Professor Yong Liu. NBAB is internationally recognized as a pioneer in development of Nanobiotechnology in the field of Ophthalmology. NBAB is a key research strength in the interdisciplinary research of Material Science, Chemistry and Ophthalmology at Wenzhou Medical University.

NBAB mainly focuses on exploring multidisciplinary study in biomedicine particularly in ophthalmology, such as the development of novel nanoscale materials and devices for diverse applications, including (1) Nanodevices for remote regeneration of ophthalmic tissues via the stimulations from electricity, magnet, and light; (2) Highly sensitive, wearable nanostructured ocular biosensors. (3) Multimodal ophthalmic bioimagers with capability of strong penetration and time-resolution. (4) Highly targeted delivery of ophthalmic nanodrugs with controlled release.
